    All online permit purchases will include a $10 shipping and handling fee. The permits will be sent via United States Post Office Certified Mail and will require a signature.
    Permits may be purchased year round in person at: Blydenburgh, Cathedral Pines, Indian Island, Sears Bellows, Smith Point, West Hills, and the West Sayville Parks Operations Office. Please allow 5-10 business days for processing and delivery via USPS. For immediate purchase, please visit one of our park locations.

    Resident Green Key is required to receive the resident price on permit. Refunds will not be given for failure to purchase Green Key before purchasing outer beach permit.
      
    Annual permits are not sold until the current year. So, for example,
    2024 Annual Permits (including, Outer Beach Permits) do not go on sale until January 1, 2024.

Permits purchased online are processed the next business day and mailed via United States Post Office. Please allow 7 business days to receive your permit. Permit is required at time of use. The Suffolk County Seasonal Boat Ramp permit provides access to the Suffolk County boat ramp located at Smith Point Marina in Shirley. Permit sticker must be affixed to the registered boat trailer.

Please note there is No Overnight Parking at the Smith Point Marina.

Directions: Smith Point Marina is located on William Floyd Parkway. Take William Floyd Parkway South - Just before the Smith Point Bridge, entrance to the Marina is on the right.

Southaven Seasonal Freshwater Fishing

The Seasonal Suffolk County Fishing Permit provides access to fishing at Southaven Park for the current season. Freshwater fisherman are reminded that a New York State fishing license is required.

Freshwater fishing is available at Blydenburgh, Lake Ronkonkoma , Sears Bellows, Southaven (Suffolk County Fishing Permit Required), Millers Pond, and at Big Reed Pond at Montauk County Park. Suffolk County parks offer freshwater lake and pond fishing for pumpkinseed, largemouth bass, perch and bluegills. Bait permitted. New York State rules prevail. Fishing permitted between sunrise and sunset.

The Suffolk County Night Fishing Permit provides access for night fishing at Suffolk County Park Department fishing locations during the night hours (10PM to 6AM). Permits are valid at the following locations: Smith Point, Shinnecock East, Charles F. Altenkirch, Orient Point County Park, Cupsogue, Shinnecock Canal, Cordwood Landing, Lake Ronkonkoma, and Montauk County Park.

Night Fishing Permit must be displayed in the windshield of your vehicle in the parking lot. Fisherman must be actively fishing. Overnight stays are not permitted. This permit does not provide access to outer beach locations.

Outer Beach Annual Permit

Outer Beach Annual Permit

Suffolk County offers eight shoreline access opportunities to off-road vehicles with permit. The Outer Beach permit includes access to designated beach areas for access as well as night fishing in designated parks. Outer Beach access is available (conditions permitting) at Cedar Point County Park, Charles F. Altenkirch County Park, Cupsogue Beach County Park, Montauk County Park, Northwest Harbor County Park, Orient Point County Park, Shinnecock East County Park and Smith Point County Park. This permit is for Suffolk County Parks only. Not valid for New York State Park locations. Resident Green Key is required to receive the resident price on permit. Refunds will not be given for failure to purchase Green Key before purchasing outer beach permit.

IMPORTANT: It is incumbent on the operator to ensure their vehicle is capable of navigating all outer beach conditions; refer to your vehicles manufacture manual for off road capabilities. Outer Beach permits do not replace parking fees. Fall Discount is available after Labor Day through December 31st.
