Freshwater fisherman are reminded that a New York State fishing license is required. Freshwater fishing is available at Blydenburgh, Lake Ronkonkoma , Sears Bellows, Southaven (Suffolk County Fishing Permit Required), Millers Pond, and at Big Reed Pond at Montauk County Park. Suffolk County parks offer freshwater lake and pond fishing for pumpkinseed, largemouth bass, perch and bluegills. Bait permitted. New York State rules prevail. Fishing permitted between sunrise and sunset.
